"C'mon, I'm sure I can change your mind..."

For the first part of Matrix’s life, she was perfectly normal. She enjoyed the society of her clan, hunted beastclan with her peers, and had an otherwise unremarkable life. But all of that ended gradually as she became more and more aware of a particular manifestation of her magic. She found that she was able to influence the emotions of those around her. Subtly at first, but, as her power grew, so did her control. It was something she reveled in, for it gave her control. But, she wasn’t ready for the responsibility of it. Unwittingly, her influence – which was mostly in jest, or purely for her entertainment – caused her clan to destroy itself.

This fact shocked her, and made her quite morose and depressed. She wandered the land, not really looking for anything in particular. After a time, she stumbled upon the lair of Clan Arkatek, but she found no solace in there, as much as they attempted to help her. After a short while, she left, to meet her fate in the Starwood Strand. But, as fate would have it, she met a dragon who actually could help her. He fed off of emotions, and she got him to devour all of the ones that she didn’t want, before heading back to Arkatek with him in tow.

Now, flush again with positive emotions, she has attempted to put her talents towards more constructive pursuits. Namely, only messing with the emotions of those dragons who come to her for that express purpose. It makes her a fairly effective councillor… except when she reverts back to her old ways, and goes a little too far in her tweaks. Those, when noticed, have gotten her in a little bit of hot water before… especially with Eliza, who Matrix learned the hard way is too much cybernetics to let such a puny thing as emotion stop her when she has her mind set on something…

Going even further, she and her mate sometimes cause a fair bit of trouble around the lair, due to him being able to see what dragons are feeling, and then she’ll use her own magic to influence those feelings. This usually happens when both of them are bored, and will last until either Instance or Eliza ‘tells’ them to knock it off. Matrix heeds Eclipse’s warnings to not mess with Error, though, not after what happened the first time the two males met. She wouldn’t be likely to try, anyways… she can only influence emotions, not completely control them – at least not yet – so that would likely end poorly if she couldn’t calm all of the likely rage. If Eclipse were to try something, anything, though, she’d likely put all of her powers behind helping her mate… regardless of the damage that it would cause to her adoptive clan.
