Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Caldera is, in fact, Caldera is frightened of nearly everything that comes her way. It was a miracle she even survived the journey from Clan Phyron all the way in the Great Furnace to the small agrarian clan on the outskirts of the Flamecaller's domain. It is said that her parents were created by the Flamecaller herself, shaped from flame and ash into graceful and ethereal skydancers. Disappointed in their cowardly and weak daughter, they quickly passed her on as a sort of "welcoming gift" to the still fledgling Fire clan. Ashamed and nervous, Caldera braved the waste and made it to her new clan. She didn't expect such a warm welcome from dragons who had never even met her before, but it seemed as if everyone was glad to have a granddaughter of the flamecaller in the clan. Even though Nia felt a bit challenged, as she too was a granddaughter of a diety, no one had anything other than kind words to the shy skydancer. She soon found her calling as a healer, using the herbs the clan grew to help and heal her fellow clan mates.

Lavaridge adores Caldera, and has taken on a maternal role in her life. The two share the same private tent, and Caldera loves Lavaridge as her own mother. When not tending to the wounded animals and dragons, Caldera joins her adopted mother in the Flamecaller Shrine, assisting in leading services and offering tributes to the Flamecaller. When reinforcements are needed for the Mother of Flame's army, Caldera and Lavaridge guide any new exalted dragons to meet the Flamecaller and ensure they arrive not only safe, but also given basic training. She is still a cautious girl, and has taken to hiding her face beneath a fierce wolf pelt, which has given her some more confidence. She truly loves her new home, and is devoted to helping her clan and helping her grandmother, and all the clan is grateful to have her in their ranks.

The Battle of Somnus Gap was too much for Caldera. So many dragons died before she could save them, and even the dragons that lived through the attack were left with permanent injuries. She was holed up in Somnus Cave with the rest of the clan, and the stream of injured dragons never seemed to stop. Her fellow healer had died in the Battle, leaving her alone to tend to the dozens of injured dragons. After the dragons were healed, Caldera slept for days, exhausted beyond belief. How can she ever return to her normal life after seeing so much blood and carnage? Math helps her heal inside as much as he can, but Caldera is still just a child, and these images will haunt her for the rest of her life.
