Biography
| SOLAIRE | [♫] Warrior of Sunlight
{ Captain of the Guard | He/Him | Bi } Born to a long line of proud and noble knights, Solaire knew his calling before he even knew himself. It was his destiny to fight alongside his kinsmen—for honor, for justice, for glory. He embraced his heritage wholeheartedly and vowed to uphold the values of his covenant. When he was old enough, he took the sacred oath, quickly becoming known across the kingdom as one of its bravest, most admirable warriors. However, his promising career came to a tragic end when he was blinded in combat. With the loss of his eyesight, he was deemed unfit to retain his title and thus was stripped of it. Driven mad by grief, he struck out on his own, determined to discover his calling and to continue fighting against all those who dared align with darkness. Hollyhock found him alone, dazed and confused, uncertain of where he was or, indeed, who he was. Having been blind since birth, Hollyhock understood the trials and tribulations that came with disability and welcomed Solaire into his home to rest and recover. Solaire, ever the gentleman, promised to repay him for his hospitality, but Hollyhock wanted nothing material that a drake of the sword could provide. Instead, he wished to journey with Solaire, to aid him in his quest, and to help him become accustomed to life without sight. Solaire could not refuse—nor would he have, for he became very fond of his host over the few days they spent together in Hollyhock's little hut. So they began their journey together—the gentle herbalist and the bombastic knight. Their travels took them near and far, through unspeakable perils, and delivered them, at last, to the mountains of the southern Sunbeam Ruins, where they came across a quaint village nestled in the crack between four Flights. It was here that they made their home. Solaire had come to understand many things during his time with Hollyhock; chiefest among them was the concept of "letting go". He could no longer dwell on what once was. His future was here, with his mate and with the many new friends he had made. Although it was not what he had once envisioned for himself, it was comfortable, and he was happy. code by Diamondbacked |
