The Blind

From the moment she very first opened her eyes, her parents knew she wasn't going to be normal.
Born with white eyes- the trait of being blind -The young girl caught herself wandering aimlessly, bumping into things she didn't know of before.

Being a young princess in her parent's eyes, Locke was always kept far from harm's reach. Whether it be high above the gaping maws of angered Toridae, or defending against a mighty Mauler, she was always kept far from trouble.
Eventually she met another young child, a darker Coatl with similar, but shinier markings and deep chocolate colors. Together, they grew as friends, often keeping in touch through the tapping of their natural crystalline armor on the hard floors- even if they were dens away.
Eventually, she found herself handed into the arms of someone she didn't know yet.
Someone...
Someone with a really fluffy pillow for a vest.
Like her mother's, she assumed.

It was that day that Locke left the lair and left her mother's ever-so-watchful eye, off to find herself on yet another grand adventure.
One that involved constant supervision from a slightly older male child, who, due to the similar age, was assigned to keep the young girl from walking face first into an urchin full of paralyzingly venom.

The story would have been a happy ending if it ends right there. But sadly no. The gem-like growth on her skin were once thought to be just like every other gem-infested dragons, a genetic infest that passes on from generation to generation and regarded as favourable by many kin. As she grew older, her gems started to crack. Things were peeking out from the crack and soon they opened one by one with eyes staring in all directions.

Naturally, everyone freaked out.

One day she found she was alone when she woke up, at a strange place. The eyes on her body provided her with some kind of vision but it's more a sixth sense than actual sight. She looked around and wasn't sure how she got there. She can only assume that she had been abandoned. Sad, but can she really blame the others?

For the following days she wondered through the foreign land, barely surviving on the little games she can manage whenever she found water streams. She kept to herself and tried to avoid any contact with other intelligent beings. She had decided to keep solitude for the rest of her life.

Little did she know how Fate can turn, and it's not always against you.
