㊊Princess Yue
is a small but very important member of the clan. After undergoing an ancient ritual, she has managed to retain her youth. However, the ritual is not the key to immortality that others imagine it to be; a dragon's magic still runs out over its lifespan, and no youthful body can stop that.

That begs the question: since an elder dragon has the strength, though admittedly not the energy, of a younger dragon, why would one undergo this ritual? The price, after all, is very high. Those with eternal youth must give up on ever having children or venturing too far from home. They must suffer the humiliation of always being supervised on outings to the market or fairgrounds. By all means, they are treated exactly like children much of the time. So why even consider maintaining such a small, fragile body?

As always, it's for the children! Sprites, the nickname for those who have undergone the ritual, are treated like children by everyone. This is key because everyone includes children.

Children are more willing to let Sprites in on secret plans, and Sprites, fortunately, have the stamina to keep up with the children, yet also the experience to keep them out of trouble. The ultimate double agent. By the time the children realize the Sprite does not grow up with them, they have themselves become tough enough to get out of most scrapes alone; they no longer need the assistance of the Sprite.

Often, Sprites leave their home of origin for a new clan. Because, as frustrating as being an adult that's treated like a child may be, the feeling can only be amplified when the ones treating them so actually knew them as hatchlings. Truly, a very embarrassing way to live.

Oddly enough, Princess Yue has slightly bent tradition; she took along her best friend when she left. That's irrelevant to her though--they already swore never to separate before she became a Sprite, and Yue would never consider breaking that bond.
