Fannar's family has served an influential ice clan for generations. After undergoing harsh training, he was assigned as a bodyguard to Jasmine, the ice clan's heir. She was kind and gentle, and the most beautiful dragon Fannar ever met. He fell in love with her, but kept it hidden for he would get reassigned if anyone discovered his feelings.

On a trip across Reclaimer's Glacier to meet with another important ice clan, rivals ambushed them during a blizzard. They were separated in the confusion and Fannar failed to keep her safe. Her scream still haunts his dreams. A desperate Congeal blocked off her attackers and she fled. He was captured and imprisoned.

Held captive for many months, his burning desire to see Jasmine again kept him from total despair. Bit by bit he exerted his influence over the Icicle Chains binding his wings until he took control over them. He broke out and escaped.

Weak from mistreatment he dragged himself across Sornieth in search of Jasmine. He tracked her down to Clan Moss Beard and arrived during the 2016 Crystalline Gala, the heightened influence of the Icewarden during the festival the only thing keeping him on his feet.

It was not the joyful reunion he dreamt of. Seeing him again greatly upset her, and the Mirror with her almost attacked him. Only the intervention of Matriarch Jinok prevented a fight.

During his recovery, he learned of her injury that permanently destroyed her sense of smell, and that the Mirror, Crocus, was her mate. Coming to terms with both of these is an on going process.

They talked under supervision when both were ready to face one another. Jasmine does not blame him for her injury and is pleased that he survived. Fannar is glad that she's found a place where she's happy.

Jasmine maintains a cordial but distant acquaintance with Fannar. Crocus still growls at him whenever they cross paths. Fannar is getting better at not staring wistfully at her from afar.

The Frigid Fugitive Shackles are permanently fused to his limbs. Removing them would mean amputation.

Though he is no longer Jasmine's direct bodyguard, Fannar still wants to protect her so he joined the clan guard. He feels he must still atone for his failure.

Has frequent sessions with Sam to help him deal with everything he suffered and how to move forward in a healthy way.

Took up ice sculpting. He has limited artistic abilities, but it helps him express his feelings. The transient nature of the ice is comforting.
