Mercury trembled with excitement. This was to be her first time away from the Glade, her place of birth. Her wide wild eyes flickered to her surroundings. Yes yes, I will be careful she repeats to her father. Freedom! Woo-hoo she squealed as she winded her way between the trees, her body seamlessly twisting and turning. Through the forest she went, and that is where her story begins.

It wasn't until she reached the mountains that she realised how far she had actually come. The air was much warmer here - where the volcanoes lie. The place however was comforting. A residing clan provided a suitable resting place for Mercury; tomorrow they would offer her a tour. Fire is a killer. Sometimes, what's left behind can grow better than the generation before. Mercury recognised these words, her own clan Elder's had spoken them before. It was evident to her that Fire and Nature shared an important heritage.

With her knowledge expanded, Mercury decided it was time to move on. There was still so much of the world she had yet to see. To the West she begun, past the bellowing volcanoes and towards the shimmering ocean.

The salty tasting winds soon started to draw her in. She beat her wings furiously but despite her aerodynamic shape her helpless body was being aggressively blown towards the land on her right. Ow! she crashed into the soft terrain below.
Wowee! Hahah! A land hatchling rapidly approached her. His large index toe on each foot gripped the earth beneath him. You're not very smart are you!

How terribly rude. Mercury muttered and turned her head away from him. Rapid, as people knew him - for his amazing land speed, explained The Twisting Crescendo to her. She really had taken an unknowing risk. He took her to his clan's lair in Reedcleft Ascent. It was truly beautiful here. The hollow bamboo shoots offered a continuous, calm and comforting whistling chime. This would be the place she would undergo rigorous training to improve her strength and mobility.

Mercury's journey was not over yet though. Once strong enough to battle the currents, she made it her objective to maintain flight for several days without rest. Disappointed that she only managed to achieve 22 hours, she slowed to a halt in an unsightly place. She wrinkled her snout; her attempt at preventing the reek of death entering her olfactory system. The blood in her body was boiling; adrenaline rushed through every vein - a phenomenon few in the nature clan had experienced when close to the Plaguebringer's cauldron. The deity rivalry could be felt in the atmosphere and she therefore made her stay here short.

After a short rest on Arcane territory she felt uneasy due to the swirling energies. She could still remember the Plague side effect vividly, so she decided to return to the place with relaxing chimes. She didn't find the same clan before the sun set, but came across new dragons and asked for shelter in the clan near large towering cliffs. Though her past few days had been filled with far too much excitement - she enjoyed the stay and was able to regenerate all the energy she lost during her not so pleasant adventures. After a short while she decided it was time to visit her homeland and tell her stories. She was eager to feel the soft bladed grass beneath her - and to of course see her father once again! Mercury set off to the sky, this time homeward bound.
