Lilith

Long ago, Lilith was a native of the Shrieking Wilds, stalking the dark paths of the jungle where no light penetrated. Her clan had the prestigious honor of claiming direct descent from the gods, and held their favor. But in the realm of the Wandering Contagion, rival packs of wildclaws spurned by the Gladekeeper and loyal to the powers of the Plague claimed great strength and power of their own. The ancient struggle between the deities of growth and decay repeated itself in the violence of these warrior clans clashing. Their battleground was the Tangled Wood that seperated their lands.

The conflict was endless, but Lilith's life was not. Though her time in the Wilds served her well in the lightless paths of Shadow, she became one more casualty in the ceaseless struggle for dominance. The murky bogs of the Tangled Wood swallowed her bones, hoarding her among the dead that feed the wispwillow groves.

Years later, a necromancer dug up these dead armies, and Lilith was made a toy of this wicked magic. Not only her bones, but her rage and her battlelust were revived, and she nearly slew the foolish magician.

Unliving, she is now deaf to the voice of her deity of life. Undying, she is loathed by the divine harbinger of death. Now, they are both the same to her, and she fights both of their forces wherever she finds them. Only the Shadows offer her a home, and no one else accepts her.
