Everyone always says they never see Sanguine move on her own. They turn, and suddenly she’s in a different position. She never seems to blink. At least, nobody sees her blink; she hides her face under a mask of sun-bleached bone. Her mouth hangs agape most of the time, but she never speaks a word...Is she even breathing? She’s cold as clay. Her gums look white, something’s not quite right. But looking at her closely, it’s obvious she’s aware of your apprehensiveness over her condition. Her tongue clicks lightly. She silently inhales, and her chest expands...still, many are wary around her, for the most part. They all say the air is off whenever she’s around. “Creepy,” say the hatchlings. “Plaguebringer’s disgrace.”


She once stood beside her mate, Spasm. Nobody has seen him for months, nobody is worried about him. Most believe she's better off without him, but she still waits for him to return.

You feel a cold chill. Her face is pointed at you, mouth agape. A small red feather falls away from her face, and slowly drifts down to the hollowed earth below.
