The Clan Sniper
An always perfect shot

Goldstreak was born on January 22nd. A small female ridgeback, head popping from her egg and taking a look around. Trees rustled, and wind chilled her still slimy scales. Dragging the rest of her body from the egg, she was promptly picked up by her clan leader... and taken to be sold. Her small squeaks did nothing to phase her parents, as her brothers and sisters were also taken. It was a quick glimpse, the beauty and grade of the Nature Flights home. Shortlived.
Very soon, the greens and browns were replaced with colors of black, dark blue and deep purple. She squirmed a lot, being carried by a big female guardian she would come to know as Sahara. Settled firmly on the guardians back, she had a good view of the land. Not the same, but fascinating. She began to talk, quickly, and all at once, asking questions about where she came from, making comments about the land as it passed. The guardian patiently answered her questions, and eventually came to drop the young hatchling off in her new home, a lair cloaked in shadow. Summoning a small breath, she shoots a little puff of fire into the dark cave, lighting it up. The fire hits a small stalactite, and it tumbles down, shattering on the ground. Goldstreak, as she was now called, smiled a bit. She would fit in well here, and this was home. As time went on, Goldstreak grew, eventually becoming a beautiful adult. She became fiercely protective of the dragons who took her in, and has taken to sleeping during the day so she may stand guard and patrol at night. Fire constantly licked at her lips from deep in her throat, awaiting a straight shot at any intruder...or any target she used for practice. She also took to tinkering around with any mechanical materials brought into the lair. She's made a few easy things for herself. A scope that can be worn on her eye like a monocle, to help with her aim, among the few. She likes to mess with engines and wires, finding the mechanics fascinating. Many are part of her personal hoard, guarded over almost as fiercely as her clan. |
