Biography

Pantomime lifts the horned bird skull from her face to look left, then right, then left again. The room is empty, the two of you are alone. She lowers the skull mask again and leans in close to tell you her secrets, as if you had known each other for years instead of just minutes.

She tells you she's secretly a Nocturne. You don't believe her, of course you don't, but that doesn't bother her. Really it's the best possible sign that she's doing her job right. She says her mimicry is so perfect that she can outright tell you the truth without ruining her cover. She's a Nocturne, she repeats. A Nocturne and a Shadow flight dragon. She can't talk about what her mission here is specifically, but she tells you not to worry about it. You'd hardly notice even if you were the center of her every plan, so you don't need to be afraid of being caught up in her secrets. She is very good at her job like that.

You ask her if you can hold her pearl. After all, if she was really a Nocturne, of course she wouldn't have any problem letting go of a pearl. She refuses, posture becoming defensive. According to her, she's such an expert mimic that she pulled her soul from her body and condensed it into a pearl for this job. You believe her even less now, which is saying something considering how little confidence you had in her story to begin with.

Pantomime has, somehow, become the clan's new leader. Her new laws are baffling to say the least, and change daily. She has each engraved onto stone tablets to record them, though she often rescinds the new law before the engravers can even finish their work. If you were to pick up any tablet you might find laying around, the rules written on it would look something like these

"Invisible entities are to halt all movements until further notice"
"All must"
"Consuming fireflies is forbidden on the fifth Saturday of the month"
"Any dragon hunting elk to obtain and pickle their hooves must pay a 13% pickling tax"
"Art is required to be shown to the nearest fish"
"Fish who appreciate art are to be killed, and their bodies buried"
"Notice has been given: Invisible entities are once again free to move as desired"
