RIVKA

rivka quickly immersed herself into clan horesh life, claiming to be a sellsword weary from weeks of travel. her charming ways and convincing tale allowed her easy access--what clan doesn't want an honest and strong dragon among their clan, in their good graces? it wasn't until a good month later that she confessed the true reason for her arrival. she was hired to assassinate dagny, which would throw the clan into total chaos and leave vulnerable their production line and assets. however, rivka decided that, having spent time getting to know dagny and her clan, she wasn't interested in completing the contract. mostly because she knew there would be more reward in offering her employ to the young, prospering clan.

suddenly, the pieces of rivka identity began to fit together. her flippancy was due not to a good sense of humor, but having practiced the art of murder for hundreds of years. her scars and and weary eyes further belied her age. her guarded front, silent movements, and keen eyes were not interesting quirks but the tools with which she executed her craft. suddenly, rivka became not a dragon to admire, but an enigma to fear.

rivka enjoys the way that other dragons shiver or avert their gazes when she is near. it reminds her of powerful and mysterious she is. how dangerous. working in the shadows doesn't get you any credibility. she offers assassination services to her new clan mates. eyphah is a frequent employer. not surprisingly--for their shared love of secrets and discretion, of practicality and of detachment--rivka and the skydancer have become good ~~business partners~~ friends. though eyphah has made it clear on multiple occasions that she could never trust the assassin, she agrees that her presence in the clan has helped mitigate a lot of the messier, behind the scenes crises that dagny could never handle. and boy, do the others loathe her for it.

when she isn't breaking the law, rivka spends most time with her mate or her many children. she relishes in her mate's flashy showings of affection, and she adores all of her children. in fact, she often brings her youngest along with her on jobs--or sends them along with her husband--so they can learn the craft earlier. criminals are made, not born, after all!

despite her nature, she's actually a quite fun and carefree dragon. for those who don't know her well enough to fear her, she is a steadfast friend. for those who do, she is all the more horrific.
