About

Falkner is an adept hunter; however, rather than use traditional methods, he works with birds of prey as a falconer. He is highly dedicated to his work and focuses much of his time and attention on his birds. Any bird under his supervision is greatly respected and cared for; he sees them not as mere beasts, but as equal companions. With his diligence and acumen, he is able to keep them in top condition.


Backstory

In his youth Falkner learned much from his grandfather, Celyn, whom he is particularly close to. Celyn often took his grandson hunting with him, imparting his wisdom upon the younger dragon. Thus, Falkner came to love the thrill of the hunt. His interest in birds and falconry was sparked when he observed his birth clan's matriarch, Cypris, interacting with her familiar, a wildwood owl. The bird was a loyal companion; nearly every time he saw the Guardian, it was perched upon her shoulder. One day, he saw the owl swoop down with a mouse in its talons; this kill was offered to its companion, who gladly accepted it. This got the young dragon thinking- perhaps, if he befriended such a bird, he could hunt alongside it. From that moment on, Falkner studied intently; he observed birds of prey in the wild, taking note of their behavior, their diet- anything that could be useful information. He asked Sorin, the clan's tamer, for help; the other dragon taught him the importance of respecting other creatures and how to earn one's trust. In time, Falkner became adept in the art of falconry.
