Biography

Ever since Hasty was a wee hatchling, he's always been fascinated with treasure. It all started when he found his first piece of gold. Little Hasty's eyes swelled with wonder as he held it, and he realized with glee that the little metal piece shone and glinted in the sun just the same way as his brilliant wings did! He felt a kinship with treasure; an attachment to it much the same way as any other dragon felt an attachment to a familiar. From that day forth, Hasty did his best to collect as much of it as he could, and when he had a pouch full of money, everything just seemed right in the world.

At first, Hasty only did odd jobs here and there for clans willing to let him tidy up or watch the younglings. Often times, the clan would be delighted by his charm and charisma and ask him to stay. However, Hasty wasn't ready for a clan at this point--he had other plans.

Hasty wanted to learn the way of the merchant. He began by selling anything he could manage to find, and would challenge himself by making up "quotas" to meet. He became very good at this, and eventually he was quite the formidable little salesman. Hasty took to traveling from region to region, happy to sell just about anything to any dragon who would take an interest in it. For a time, he continued this venture and was very happy on his own; that is, until he met Blu.

He came across a young, fumbling Coatl one day while passing by the Ashfall Waste. The Coatl nearly tripped over his own tail when Hasty greeted him, and rather than returning the greeting, just looked confused. It wasn't long before Hasty realized that the young Coatl could only speak his native language, which, luckily, Hasty understood a little bit of as a result of his travels.

After some back and forth humming (which was quite a bit broken on Hasty's part) it was revealed that this dragon had been kept in a cave all his life so far, and had recently lost his parents. The tragedy of the situation tugged at the Skydancer's empathy strings, and his natural caring instinct kicked in. He couldn't leave this little guy here by himself! Hasty decided to take this little sheltered youngling under his golden wings and teach him as much as he could about the world. Though the Coatl was older than Hasty time-wise, Skydancers matured at a faster rate, and so he would consider himself to be the new parent. That was Hasty's justification for the matter, anyway. He would call his new friend Blu, in admiration of his brilliantly shining blue plumage.

After taking Blu under his care, Hasty decided it was finally time that he settled down and joined a clan. He chose a wind clan, just like the one his parents were from, and made sure it was packed full of different breeds of dragons. He deemed that having a big, diverse family would be good for raising this sheltered child.

Hasty now lives happily together with Blu in this clan. He enjoys setting up shop whenever he has a chance to, and takes pleasure in paying visits to the auction house with whatever he can pass as having value. He also keeps close tabs on the clan's treasure pile, and anyone who wants to spend money must first consult Hasty about it.
