Rosette was a dragon torn by her passion of alchemy experiments and her family's legacy of being a great deep sea diver like her family. They had been relied upon for years and had excelled in procuring deep sea clams for the clan. While she found herself proficient in diving, the wonder and awe she watched as visiting arcane dragons performed alchemy enamored her. While on a fishing outing, she had though of a way of using alchemy to expedite the process. Unfortunately, she was playing with a force beyond her control and created a violent storm above the seas. During the retreat to the tunnels had been struck by a bolt of energy, fusing with her skin. It was a scar, that never faded but glowed with blue light.

Her family began to shun her for these actions. It was one of the days, she was told to stay behind that a visiting dragon Ishkirka approached her. They shared tales of woe and sorrow, Ishkirka offered Rosette a chance to further her alchemy knowledge in exchange for help in her struggle against the Plague leader. As her family returned from their trip, Rosette had already left to begin a new life. Upon joining Ishkirka's Cynareae, she met Cynareae another Ridgeback. Their love of alchemy spread to a love for each other. Under his instruction she quickly expanded her alchemical knowledge and began experimenting with confidence.
