Biography
Shadow Primal (originally posted here)
At first, the hatchling looked like any other, with the same twinkling purple-black eyes all its kind had, shining with excitement as it explored its new world. But before long, it became clear something was... off. While it wasn't uncommon for dragons to have goop build up by their eyes (like in dogs), the levels of murky slime oozing from the poor hatchling's eyes were something previously unheard of. As time progressed, the rate at which the primordial ooze seeped from its eyes only increased, until they were constantly dripping with the dark sludge. As the dripping worsened, the hatchling complained of having trouble seeing, and was constantly scratching and rubbing, trying to clear it's vision and get the goop off it's face. The slime was thick and sticky, like mucus, leaving a stain along its path and sticking to the hatchling's skin. It seeped into everything it touched, leeching color and life from whatever it came into contact with. Then, starting with the veins along the edges, the hatchling's eyes began changing color, becoming pitch black. As the dark leeched across its eyes, its vision drastically plummeted, until its eyes were completely black, and they were left blind, unseeing, and defenseless. After the darkness claimed their eyes, it began eating away at them, until all that was left of the hatchling's beautiful shadowy eyes were oozing pits.
