Biography

Amyloidosis is almost its own subclass of diseases, in which proteins are misfolded. This simple error makes those proteins insoluble and indestructible by the body's natural cleanup enzymes, clogging up cells and causing widespread destruction. Once diagnosed, the median survival is between 1 - 11 years.
