Raven works as a bodyguard for Thursday, a somewhat wealthy spiral in the Tangled Woods portion of the territory with more enemies than any law-abiding citizen has any right to have—chief among them being Queen Safiria, who is quite interested in Thursday due to her resemblance to one of the Queen's old flames.

The two girls met shortly after Raven began her training as one of the kingdom's many knights. Initially, Raven had wanted to defend the people of Swordhaven from anything that might happen to them, so that none might grow up like she did with Shade-touched graves instead of parents. As she got to know Thursday more and more, she wanted to protect her friend as well. Eventually, Raven got her wish, as Thursday found herself set upon and carried off by Safiria's vampires one night, leading to Raven gathering up a search party to rescue her. She's refused to let Thursday out of her sight ever since.

Raven has an absolutely enormous crush on her charge. The whole clan is waiting for when she finally realizes that Thursday has an equally enormous crush on her as well.
