Ilyana

Eager to learn more about the world beyond the confines of the Scarred Wasteland, Ilyana set off on a journey to experience as much as she could. Her search for knowledge took her to the Shifting Expanse, where the sweltering desert forced her to take refuge with a local clan rather than cross in a single night.

Here she encountered Fusain, an unassuming young fae whose quiet demeanor belied the powerful magics she commanded. Ilyana learned much from the other dragon - most importantly that even darkness could be taught to protect others. By the time she felt confident enough to resume her travels, she'd become quite the talented young healer.

As a parting gift, Fusain fashioned a set of feathered wings for her new friend. She claimed that the enchantment on them would always steer her to the places she was needed most.

Traveling north, Ilyana came across the Ancient Guard. Their lands and lair were massive, home to many Imperials, befitting of a clan residing within the Sunbeam Ruins. Ezekiel, the clan's leader, allowed her passage for the week she stayed within the region. The Guardian assured her she could stay as long as she needed, it was interesting to have guests, but Ilyana said she would soon be leaving.

She felt oddly outcasted within the lair. She came across no trouble, there was no unkindness dealt towards her, but she was the only witch amongst the group. Magic users existed, but their craft was completely unlike hers. She felt she couldn't truly connect with anyone.

After a parting feast, Ilyana gave her thanks to the Ancient Guard and continued her journey, her wings itching for flight.
