LETHE The Fell Tactician Clever Amnesiac of Clan Morningstar Mate of HENRY Touch my mouth and hold my tongue I'll never be your chosen one Lethe's absentminded, has some memory problems, and something seems to weigh her down and cloud the light in her eyes. However, she continues on nevertheless. Lethe doesn't actively try to make friends, but she'll happily converse with someone if they approach her. Despite her airy and light-hearted personality and speech, she has a strange attraction to the darker things in life. Her official title is Tactician of War Forces, and Lethe determines the best tactics to use on the battlefield alongside Gourmand. She is part of Regalia's Strife Council, a group made of the elite brains and brawn in Clan Morningstar. Despite this lofty calling, Lethe sometimes doubts her rarely paralleled intelligence. |
The pull on my flesh was just too strong
Stifled the choice and the air in my lungs Better not to breathe than to breathe a lie Lethe was found in an open field on the outskirts of Clan Morningstar's territory during Scylla's, Spectacle's , and Flourish's patrol. Without any memory of her former life as the heiress to Grima's bloodline, Lethe had nothing but her tactical skills, an inexplicable power with a tome, and a mysterious mark on her left hand to hint at her forgotten memories. With nowhere else to go, Lethe trailed back to camp behind the Wild Trio. The Wild Trio told Matriarch Regalia of their discovery, and all was going well until Pernicious caught sight of the eerie mark on Lethe's hand. After an emergency meeting of the Seni Council and debate spanning hours inside the council room, the Council declared that Lethe would be best kept under the eye of the Head Enchantress herself, and Madrigal was quick to oblige. For a bit, Lethe was content to lend her magic and knowledge to Clan Morningstar with no strings attached and no memories to prompt her to seek different alliances. It was more than a coincidence that two dark mages appeared in the months following Lethe's arrival. While she didn't remember them when they arrived amongst a flurry of crows, Henry and Tharja privately told Regalia that they knew Lethe before her memory was wiped and that she was the Heart of Grima, a vessel for the destruction of the world. Their very presence seemed to corrode the barriers holding back Lethe's unhappy memories, so the pair kept their distance. However, because the three knew each other from childhood, Lethe felt a strong pull towards the Coatl and Wildclaw and fought the distance they maintained. Finally, Henry snapped. Before Lethe fled for her life from her father and the Grimleal, the cult that worshipped the Fell Dragon, Grima, Henry and Lethe had confessed their love for each other and spent a few short weeks in happy bliss. The sudden disappearance and reappearance of the love he'd unknowingly chased for the better part of his life drove Henry to be selfish, and he rashly dove to catch Lethe as she tripped over a misplaced tome. When they touched, Lethe's memories returned with a splitting headache. Now, Lethe must figure out what to make of her memories and how to beat her scripted fate. One thing is certain: Henry and Tharja aren't leaving her side anytime soon. SCROLLS USED: Pearlcatcher, Okapi. Art on the upper left made by me. |
