It begins with a dark glowing ember,
Something black burning its way out of me
Searing the flesh,
Pain is the only thing I feel,
Scars all I see...

--The Scarred--

Atreyu suffered a horrible accident when he was still young, trying to defend his little brother. Almost all of his scales were burned away, leaving him covered in severe burns. While he covers all wounds that he possibly can, some awful scars still show through. Even long after the incident, the Wildclaw remains in pain.

Atreyu tries to seem egotistical to disguise his horrible depression and agony, which nearly cripples his ability to function on a daily basis. Arlanna and Truthseeker do all that they can to numb his pain, but it never lasts.

Shortly after the third annual Flameforger's Festival, his mate, Enmity, disappeared into the Scarred Wasteland. She hasn't been seen since.
