Speed- she was born to it. Quick as a hatchling, she left her peers far behind in any game they devised, coming up first in every task that required quick reflexes and nimble mind. The moment she started flying a whole new world was opened to her, one of swift freedom. She knew then that her future is here, among brisk currents and soft clouds. When she was still very young, barely out of hatchlinghood, she started taking part in sky races. What she lacked in experience she made up with her speed. She had won many of these, but the first prize was never her priority. The flight itself was. The chance to exercise her wings and the training- to build her stamina for long distance travel. Before she was fully grown she was not only swift but also strong and her wings were able to carry her for hours without end. |
As adult, she took a job that she thought will make the best use of her speed and stamina. She became a delivery dragon, so she could be in the air for long stretches of time, racing against time to deliver her cargo. However, the reality was different than she expected. There was the air traffic to deal with, a sky filled with dragons going in all directions, demanding careful manoeuvres to get through. There were elderly dragons that made a point to fly low and very slow. There were families out for a lazy flight, towing hatchlings and luggage, blocking the passages. The delays soured her mood, often resulting in arriving to her destination in a grumpy mood, ready to snap at other dragons at a hint of provocation. The night flights became her refugee, a time when she could be alone with only the winds and stars to witness her swift passage.
