Kian

A relatively recent member of Vigilance's clan, Kian is a particularly secretive Nocturne with an unusual ancestry. The son of an Imperial father and a Nocturne mother, he has often been ostracized for his immense size, a fact that has pulled him from much of the world. Though he takes after his larger parent physically, the drake does not share his father's light-aligned philosophical tendencies, nor his mother's kind but firm icy bonds towards the frigid north, and thus has had a wedge driven between him and both elemental birthrights since his hatching.

A lone wanderer for much of his adolescence, Kian joined with Vigilance and her band of misfits due to both the intense curiosity native to his species and an innate desire to finally find a place to settle once and for all.

Kian shares his father's beautiful, smoky golden coloration, as well as the faceted, gemlike appearance of massive, batlike wings, and is often pestered by those clans wishing to breed in attractive genes. The drake politely - if often coldly - declines these requests, wishing to wait until choosing a bondmate to have a clutch of his own. He seems to have stuck to this stubborn practice, as he and Vigilance are now contentedly mated with three new hatchlings.
