Hermit | Protector
    "You won't catch me around here." She braved the plague lands, bitter ice storms, and countless maulings from the wildlife and aggressive clans, only to land here. She'd heard this territory was claimed by an especially unprincipled clan who loved nothing more than to gain power and consume. She was not afraid of them, but she was weak from the long journey. It was impossible to keep moving. She fell. Having collapsed from exhaustion but refusing to give up, she pulled herself halfway into the entrance hall of the cave before her arms gave out. The last thing she saw was a tall silhouette, cast in shadow and back piled with freshly-skinned elk. The Panchill Clan took her in, tending to her wounds and providing food and shelter. Although she was appreciative (begrudgingly) and warming up to her nurse, she scorned the rest of the clan for their flexible morals as well as serving the Icewarden solely for personal gain. She felt that it was a clan's duty to work for the greater good, improving their land and community, selflessly serving their deity. Panchill lacked any sort of motivation aside from their own survival and prosperity. Unable to stand their self-serving ways any longer, she left as soon as she was able. She was in the threshold of the cave when she saw it: her charge. Fearing the possibility of staying, she continued walking, in hopes that her mind was playing tricks on her due to stress. But she felt it. Her heart sank with each step further from him. Her stomach turned. Her head pounded. She sucked in air and turned back. Rhosyn, the hunter who found her, was surprised to hear he was now her charge. He replied in confusion, for she must be wrong, and certainly had not recovered from her exhaustion. But the way she said it was not a question - it was sternly informing him that this is now how things were. Somewhat of a submissive dragon in the first place, Rhosyn accepted. Although Brunne is now bound to the clan, she takes measures to distance herself from them as much as possible. Within a week of her decision to stay, she had gathered enough wood and materials to build her own hut, made far enough from the cave to have breathing room but still keeping its entrance in eyesight. When Rhosyn is out hunting, she trails slightly behind. When he is not, she stays in her hut, watching the dragons come and go. She doesn't like to be bothered or asked to socialize. However, she does has a soft spot for naive dragons, such as Canris. special thanks @nayiru. |
