Gruffen had all but been abandoned by his former clan of strictly Mirrors, when Rowina stumbled across him. The Fae tended to his wounds, and eventually the two warmed to each other. From there he followed her to Behemoth, and was the first member of the clan. He didn't have the heart to try and rejoin his old clan due to them shunning him once because of his poor physical health, so he currently he sleeps near Rowina's nest, in a ramshackle of grass, catails, moss and chewed bones.

This dragon is a social man, and has learnt to love interacting with his fellow clan members, despite previously thinking that his own breed was superior to the rest. Of course he needs his down time as well, but he genuinely loves to mingle and learn about others by listening to them. This makes him a well liked in general, which often works in his favour. His patience, while quite high, if he's had enough of others and they come to bother him he'll snap.

While the owl doesn't have a name at the current moment, he loves it all the same. He hadn't been planing to get a familiar, but after sneaking through the undergrowth of the Viridian Labryinth one day, he spotted a Wildwood owl watching him curiously and the rest is history. The two get along just fine, and the said owl happens to love perching on Gruffen's wing when the dragon feels strong enough to bear his weight.

Gruffen is devoted to his mate, and will often comfort her in times of need. He also appreciates her helping him out with his physical issues, and doesn't feel scared to rush into the field of battle with her by his side. The two are often seen wandering aimlessly in the surrounding territories of their clan's lair, or curling up together with Behemoth in sight. They recently did have a clutch of hatchlings together, though as soon as they were old enough the call for adventure called most to travel to the Scarred Wasteland to fight a great battle between the Plaguebringer and the Lightweaver. The last, Tidal, plans to travel to Glademama herself in the nearby future. Currently they don't have any plans to bear another clutch, in fear that the same might happen again.

Gruffen's list of interest can almost be purely defined by what's in his nest. He's never really gotten out of the habit of ram shackling moss, leaves, bones and grass into his nest, even though he isn't on 'the hunt' any more. Gruffen has also come to appreciate literature, though at the moment he often asks Rowina both to read to him and teach him how, since he is illiterate.
He also has taken a liking to taking care of Wildwood Owlets to please both this familiar and himself for helping the little chicks in need.

His dislikes include two of the things that have always crippled him- his tendencies to catch colds and just the cold in general. He doesn't have a personal fuede against the Plaguebringer or anything, but he isn't the biggest fan of her either. Gruffen also doesn't like both fire and storms- as they occasionally destroy the very forest he calls dear.
