Chaos

When the flights arose and started worshipping the various deities, the Arcane Flight inherited the Arcanist's fascination for the previous civilisation and their unfathomable knowledge and technology. They elaborated a construct on the image of the Arcanist, putting their souls into making it alive. However, no matter how precisely they followed the ancient methods, they couldn't succeed, as if missing the most important part. The beautiful construct was thus reluctantly abandoned in a lonely and towering cave, so that it could still face the vastness of the world.

One day, the tiniest and clumsiest fae climbed up to that solitary mountain cave, looking for a way to encompass the world far too big for it. And seeing the splendid dragon standing there, it was delighted to encounter a companion, sharing its longings to know the whole world. The construct was of course unable to share the little fae's emotions, but the tiny being didn't know it and blabbered so well, that it didn't seem odd for the man-made dragon not to utter a word.

The small fae was craving for the most trivial knowledge from the world and spoke during days, about what it had already discovered or conjectured, about what it wanted to test out and learn about. It spoke of the way specks of dust cluster and drops of water fall, the rythm of blooming and faltering of flowers that depended on the direction they were facing, the colour of fish eyes varying with seasons... And while watching everything from the high mountain peak, it continued to talk about the marvels it had seen as the days passed unknowingly. During that time, a frail but shiny light gradually arose from the depths of the dead construct's eyes, growing brighter with the fae's words. Until one day, the construct blinked.

Since that day, the construct has become a full-fledged dragon, filled with unstoppable curiosity towards the tiniest things. And until today, it roams the earth together with the smallest of faes, burstling with the biggest of desires to uncover everything.
