The Spell Bound

Eri approached the clearing, still damp from the morning dew. Chill grass touched her chest as she rested, a gentle breeze sweeping down the slot canyon was all that altered the peace.

The touch of mother's hand, the sweet taste of honey, smell of cooking fires, the first cry of her hatch lings, the fond eyes of her mate filled Eri's senses.

More importantly Eri gave, gave the memories. Of her skills, love and life.

"I can offer eternity of happiness. Of peace." Death was close. Rhum's words were of the highest respects. Few were invited to see The Spell Bound, let alone be invited to join her.

Eri's energy slipped, the beautiful dance of life that had always been hers to command was passed to the calming energy of a collective stream of light.

Rhum looked on as Eri's form faded. The colors on Memory's hide shifted, temporarily reflecting the fallen imperial until both vanished from Rhum's view.
