Biography

He doesn't know where he's from; whether he came from an egg or just appeared one day... it's a mystery. Maybe that's why he delves and studies and practices in the Arcane- mysteries, secrets, dreams, life... they're all puzzles that need examining, playing with and mostly, Understanding. Yet, despite his studies and fierce love of knowledge, Dust managed to find himself a mate (rather that she found him) and together started a modest family. A few other strays happened along and he welcomed them into his brood with open arms. He is a loving and generous creature, and he commands the respect of those around him.
he loves his lair and being able to watch the sunrise each day, and though only his mate really understands the mystery of their birth, even she is puzzled by his devotion to the dawn.
He never misses it, and no matter how late or tired he is, he is always revitalised with the rising of the sun- as if its light somehow rekindles the flame in his heart every day.
He shines that warmth on all he meets, and someday, when he meets his Arcanist, he knows that he would have done well in His eyes.

Dust faces the Dawn, his lair yawns at the coming sun and he always is there to witness it. This is his home and the Sun illuminates all, as he wishes to be illuminated. Studying all night, experimenting and always searching between caring for his now growing family. He loves them all and he loves the sun as it chases him in to dreams and fantastic ideas. he know his first mate, Amara was a love in the night, but their legacy will live on in their children. He believes and trust a true love will come to him, and together, they will raise a mighty clan in this Lair. He is patient and he is kind, and he has children to tend to.

~{Part II}~
Our home was carved from dormant rock, a lost volcano that has since decided to slumber. In its rest, it has gone unnoticed that its once magma-filled veins are now filled with a different life.

I found myself in this place at dawn, awakened in volcanic dust, painted by the early morning light. Even as I write this I can feel the cold morning breeze fluttering my fur. I had no egg, no parents from which to claim a bloodline. I am me. I took my name from the bed in which I lay, Dust. It was simple to me and I was pleased.

Facing the morning, I knew instinctively I had the Arcanist to thank for life and the dream that now sustains me.

My home is black, dark rock which I've since brought to life with lichen and mosses. Soft colours and gently green things to smooth the sharps edges and hardness all around. My lair is my home, and deep in the bowels I will grow my hoard, my collections, my Library. Already I've started to collect a cornucopia of things, even a menagerie of sorts.

It's beautiful here, on my cold idle. The Arcanist's Observatory glints far to the north, and to the south I know dwells the Icewarden and his ilk. I bare them no ill will, but I know better than to venture too far into those lands. It's far safer and warmer to the north. Perhaps in the future I can spread my wings and visit farther reaches of the world. For now, it is for me to build this home and bring this volcano, (figuratively) back to life!

~{Part II}~
A lovely, stoic Guardian has found her way to my lair. She, like myself, seems to not have any family or lineage. Her origins are an enigma and I find that both fascinating and sad. Where I awoke with a home, she has been wandering. But she is impressed so far with my efforts to create an acceptable lair, and I very much welcome her company- even affections.

I had considered finding a mate, from time to time, but as always my studies and experiments dominated my thoughts. But it would seem the universe -perhaps the Arcanist?- has seen a need for a mate in my life and has now provided one. She is comely and sincere, and I admire her deep love of our elemental god.

I surmise that our children will be strong and between the two of us, well loved, cared for and of course educated.

~{Part III}~
Amara and I have prepared our first nest and have successfully nestled two eggs therein! What a triumph of life! I cannot believe that we will be parents and these empty warrens will soon here the scratch-scratch of tiny claws on its stone surfaces. She is bursting with pride, as am I.
We are both itchy with anticipation!
