Leader and Patriarch of the Stargazers

B I O G R A P H Y

Patriarch of the Stargazer clan. Juniper is a devout follower of Arenji. He is a loving yet stern leader of his clan. One of the star-touched. Rare dragons who are deeply connected with celestial bodies, these dragon possess the ability to read the stars, be it for guidance, or hidden truths, and the ability to channel the power of the stars to perform feats of magic. Juniper reads the stars as easily as reading a book. The distant suns burn their truths across the night sky. Juniper reads and complies the many truths he sees. Though many call him a diviner, he thinks of himself as more of a scholar. In reality, both are equally true.

Alone on a dark winter night, Juniper was set to begin his own clan. His journey was difficult. He had to carve out his own home in this world, a feat that few can accomplish. He traveled the breath of the land, searching for a home he felt would be just right for him to start a new family. He felt an affinity for the light, but the Sun gave him precious few answers. It dawned on him that perhaps the stars, all suns themselves, may prove more useful. They gave him a larger picture, one that was easier for him to decipher, than the one he saw from one lone sun. He still faced his fair share of hardships, but he thought himself rather lucky to be able to so easily understand the stars. The stars eventually guided him to the domain of Light, a beacon of safety from the wilds and the beasts that lurk in the shadows. Lost in a new land, Juniper looked once again towards the stars for guidance. Instead of finding a path to a clearing to start building his new home, Juniper saw a messenger of Arenji. A harpie with the stars reflected in its wings, beckoned to Juniper to follow. With nowhere else to go, he complied, flying alongside the mysterious harpie. They landed deep in The Hewn City, and although it was a landscape of ruined strutures covered in shade, Juniper thought it was perfect. Though the sun was often obscured in the Hewn City, the stars were crystal clear. It was perfect. As Juniper began to settle and start work on clearing a den, the harpie told him it's tale.

Longs ago, a lone harpie named Sylva was fleeing from a clan of dragons who hunted her kind for sport. She flew and flew, doing her best to evade the attacks her pursuers, when a jolt of pain shoot through her and she fell. She knew this was the end. She closed her eyes and readied herself for impact, when a brilliant light surrounded her. She opened her eyes to find herself free of pain and attackers. She looked around herself and saw a beautiful night sky, stars of all colours shining bright. A loud voice boomed, coming from all around her.

B I O G R A P H Y

Sylva explained to Juniper how Arenji had saved her from death and given her a new form. She told Juniper the truth about the old gods, and how without Arenji, without the power of luck, something the old gods had no dominion over, Juniper would be unlikely to survive long enough to properly establish his clan.
She told him that if he doubted her tale, he should search the stars for further answers, but Juniper needed no more convincing. He had seen enough during his journeys to know that without luck, he wouldn't be here at all. Then and there, he pledged himself to Arenji, and continued with his preparations of a new den.
