Alien Tendril Pollen Tiger Beetle
Clan Co-Leader, Progenator

Rhian was always an energetic and adventurous hatchling. She would often wander off into the Shrieking Wilds on her own to explore and make new friends. Because of these habits, and the unforgiving forest life, Rhian learned how to fight to defend herself very early on. She soon understood the importance of belonging-- it was easy to despair on your own out in the wilderness, but with a clan or lair everyone shared the burden and made living a little bit easier.

On one such particular outing to the great unknown, Rhian came across a ragged looking young dragon, though she didn't much question it, after all, a fluffy Tundra meandering through the underbrush was bound to catch some tangles. She excitedly recounted her day's adventures, and how now she was headed home to her parents. Something she said must have set the young Tundra off because he suddenly started to cry. With no clue what she was doing, Rhian comforted the dragon as best she could. When he finally calmed down, the sun was setting and she had really better start heading home before it was too dark to see. Feeling bad, she offered to meet the Tundra at the same location the next day, and he agreed.

Day after day, Rhian would meet up with Kota near the mouth of a river and talk. In the beginning, it was mostly Rhian doing the talking, while Kota remained reserved. This however changed drastically as Kota came to trust her more. He would tell her more and more of his story each day. When he finally confessed that he was living on his own just a little bit away from their meeting place, Rhian tried to get him to come home with her to a nice lair with friendly faces, but Kota politely refused, though she couldn't understand why.

Talking with Kota was an eye-opening experience. The things his parents had done to him were terrible and Rhian had plenty of time to ruminate on them. Rhian ultimately decided that she didn't like homophobes, or actually, "phobes" of any kind. Soon enough, she started to see the same hurtful characteristics in her parents as Kota had in his. She tried to make her parents stop hating and learn to love, but they wouldn't. After about a month of trying to convince her parents -and failing- she finally made the hardest decision of her life. She couldn't live with them anymore, not when her new found best friend was something they determined as "of Satan".

Rhian disowned her family and clan and started the next phase of her life with Kota by her side. She taught him what she knew and he taught her. They lived peaceably for a time, wandering the Blooming Gardens with no particular destination. But one day they came across a dragon with a similar story to Kota's. It was heartbreaking to listen to, and the pair decided it was unacceptable for dragons like Kota living on their own, they decided to create a lair of their own, a place where misfits of any kind could come and know that they were loved and that they belonged.

Now she is happy and content with her new life and faces challenges head-on and protects anyone who needs it.
