Born as a Fae, Maalik had never been comfortable in his body. Ambitious and fierce, he was constantly getting into fights way beyond anything he could handle. His outrageous personality impressed Iren, who was a princess at the time, and the two became fast friends.

Eventually they turned into more and Iren loved him regardless of what he looked like. But he still wasn't satisfied. He began to search for ways to change what he was, reading numerous old scrolls and farfetched myths. Until one day he encountered the Witch Laveau.

The strange Skydancer granted him his wish though none can say how. And no one is sure what the price was. Some say it was his soul, others say hordes of treasure. But all agree the familiar he turned up with afterwards has something to do with his debt.

Regardless of whatever took place so many years ago, none can deny that he makes a powerful King. He and Iren are a fearsome match that very few dare to trifle with. Those who do are reminded that such a decision is not wise. The clan hopes they will continue to rule for many more years to come.
