Biography
ALCIDES
CLAN PATRIARCH
CLAN PATRIARCH
"I hold the needs of the Clan above my own." |
P E R S O N A L I T Y
______Alcides is a tough dragon, because he has to be. When you lead a Clan, you have no other choice. He is cunning, intelligent, and quick-witted. It is nearly impossible to sneak past this Patriarch – just ask any of his children, trying to bring in their lovers to the house late at night. If you try to sneak around him, don’t be surprised to find him waiting outside your door the next morning, foot tapping the ground, asking where you’ve been. This dragon brought down one of the most powerful leaders in Light almost single-handedly. Don’t expect him to be outwitted by a youngster with a big ego. ______Though he is tough, he is also gentle. Alcides has a natural paternal side, and takes always takes the greatest care of his children. This paternal side extends to members of his Clan as well. He often worries over them, and if you get injured, expect to find him hovering nervously by your side. He does not take kindly to injury of those he loves, and will happily kill those who harm his Clanmates and family. If you do happen to do this, your only chance is to hide and pray to your deity that he doesn’t find you. ______Despite all of this, Alcides has a lot of love in his heart. He cares deeply for his mate Nur, and is almost always at his side. He has a strong sense of loyalty to his family and those he loves, and will never abandon them. He can often be found cuddling with Nur when not taking care of Clan duties, curled up in their den with their tails intertwined. He is also close with his children, and they will often have to literally push their father away so that they can handle their own duties. |

The Beginning
- Born to his father, Hercules, and his mother, Megara.
- Mother dies shortly after birth, Hercules blames Alcides for this and never quite treats him right.
- Alcides always knows he is different, in more ways than one. When he's told he's a female hatchling, he never feels quite right. He also starts to realize he has more magic than the other Mirror hatchlings... much, much more.
- Alcides confides in his father about not feeling right over being called a female, and tells him he wishes to be called a male. This is a mistake, as his father simply declares that he is the princess of the Clan and will be treated as such.
- Despite his father's rejection, Alcides does not change his mind on his identity and continues to identify as a male, as that is how he feels the most comfortable.
- Eventually, Alcides's prowess with magic becomes known to his father as well. When his father finds out he is one of the Blessed Ones, there is an immediate attempt to enslave him. His father ends up selling him as slave to one of his higher-ups, an Imperial dragon named Pyrrhos. This leads to Alcides's lifelong distrust of Imperials.
- Under Pyrrhos's enslavement, Alcides meets Nur, another Mirror dragon and Blessed One who has been enslaved. The two of them have a whirlwind romance, which leads to Alcides getting pregnant.
- Not wanting to risk their pups being taken away, Alcides and Nur slip out in the dead of night when no one will notice them. They manage to escape Hercules's territory, and Alcides gives birth in a cave. This is where Caladorn is born. They are still in Light territory.
- Alcides and Nur meet Cesara while Alcides is in labor, and she helps him deliver the pups. They quickly become friends, as Alcides feels he owes Cesara for helping him. They explain their situation to her, and while she is not a Blessed One herself, she decides to help them.
- Alcides hatches a plot to overthrow his father and take his place as the leader of the Clan. Nur and Cesara support him, and they all begin training to take over the throne.
- After many months of training, Alcides finally returns to his home and defeats his father. He claims the territory as his own, as it rightfully is, and exiles all of the dragons who supported his enslavement. The remaining dragons pledge their loyalty to him and become the Clan of the Rising Sun.
The Hellhounds Arrive
- Some of the dragons Alcides exiled grow resentful of him. However, they mostly remain as a scattered band of bandits, until they meet Asen and Drika. They tell them about their new group, the Hellhounds, and their plan to enslave/sacrifice every Blessed One.
- The Hellhounds start to attack members of the Rising Sun Clan one by one. Alcides, unsure of what to do, starts to fight back against them. They fail miserably, as the Hellhound's tactics are different from that they have ever experienced before.
- The Rising Sun Clan is driven from their lands in Light. They are down nearly half of their members, and the Hellhounds pursue them to Plague.
