Ivaacu and Kareen were long said to have been forged from the shell of the fallen comet which brought forth the lay of their clan's initial territory in its impact; wayward shards of chaotic mana slipped from the Arcanist's grip, haphazardly blessed with the outermost reaches of the Starwood Strand to adapt to their unforeseen circumstances with no means by which they should be expected to survive; pointless strokes of time, little more than hazy fortune and a god's scattered mind in their favor.

Ivaacu existed first. He bore the most ferocious color, the most potent magic, and prowled the edge of his spiraling territory ceaselessly, existing as a rogue which fed upon other rogues, maiming or threatening nearly all he came into contact with. As time drew on and his frustration accumulated, a reign of manipulation took hold - he invited those wayward flocks to become part of his ranks. Guided by the promise of full bellies and an unusually charming demeanor, the offer was not easily declined.
