Hailing from the Southern Icefield, Eos travelled northwards in hopes of nesting her first hatchlings in her ancestral home of the Emberglow Hearth. Ill tidings meant this would never happen: a squall blew Eos and her mate off their course, and harsh weather soon brought sickness upon her mate. It seemed the gods of wind, wave and storm were conspiring against them. Forced to seek refuge on the Plateau, it was there that they encountered Tethys’ clan, who gladly wrapped the quivering young parents in their warmest down and fed and sheltered them. Eos’ children, Sol and Lune, were hatched in the warmth of this lair’s hearth.

Despite what one might expect from their opposing elements, the two are close friends. As the only other coatl among the clan’s long-term residents, Eos delighted in teaching her younger brethren their native language. On Styx’s part, being able to learn her mother tongue came as a pleasure - though, having been speaking the common draconic all her life, she found unexpected difficulty learning it.
