Biography

Araisk: The Chemist

Araisk was born in the petulant fields of the Scarred Wastes, with no recollection of her father or mother when she came to. This made her distant from other beings including her own kind who thrived in the wretched lands. She became obsessed at first with finding the whereabouts of her parents, even going as far as to find some magical means to locating them, but the arcane dragons would not offer their aid to an outsider. She had decided that day that if magic would not serve then science would, and so learning under the tutelage of Grand Chemist Putelact, she spent her earlier years learning the trade of poisons and poultices. In her teens she had become quite feared, even being accused of killing countless dragons in her experiments. She let the fear spread, for it would serve to keep away the fools from her work. She came across the potion she waited for, the one that would help her in her search for her real father and mother at last. Fate it seems, was crueler to her than most, for on that same day the village her shack was near came upon her home and destroyed it while she was away searching for her ingredients. Distraught, she felt her hopelessness close around her, until someone put a wing over to shelter her from the sun. She turned, focusing her eyes up at a being with a glowing yellow eye and mask of bone placed firmly on his face. He witnessed the destruction of the shack just as it was ending, apologizing for her loss. She Raged, trying to set off in flight to destroy the villagers. But the creature's heavy wing kept her from flying off. So she turned to cry against him as he held his embrace, whispering to her that he would help her with her vengeance. She turned her head up, looking at the strange dragon's face and asked for his name. He told her his name was long forgotten, but the beings of this world called him Erishkigal.
