To keep a clan alive in the bloodthirsty desert lands, one would believe that a leader has to be cold and ever-changing, like the night sands. Slate was neither cold, nor flexible. She was warm and steadfast like sun-hugged stone.

Yet, even a dragon with morals will put them aside for her own. The thieves steal with little hesitation, but they rarely kill.

Little is known about Slate's origins, but she used to be a mighty captain. Legend has forgotten her name, but not her valor.

Many of the dragons she welcomes into her clan were former adversaries who, too, were just trying to stay alive. She bested them in battle—or vice versa—and welcomed them into her clan with open arms.

She does not fear strangers. Slate's people will shred anyone who sets a claw to her scales.

"Oh, warrior, I do not expect you to die without a fight. Bless your tired heart. I will not respect a coward who kisses the sword at his neck."

15098046p.png 		Tygra is Slate's bloodsister and the two have an inseperable bond. Although Slate often appears to be annoyed by Tygra's eccentricity and happy-go-lucky round-'em'-up attitude, she wouldn't have the Wildclaw be any other way. The two spend much of their time scouting out routes, going on raids, and sparring together.

While they do squabble sometimes over decisions regarding the clan, they're both willing to put aside their own opinions and listen to the other. 		...

Granite Guardian
Agate is the name of the Granite Guardian that often accompanies Slate. It's steadfast and loyal, hard to provoke, and quick to protect Slate and her friends. It never speaks, rather communicating by tapping out a code on its own stone-like flesh.
The gemstones on Agate's hide sometimes fall off and are much sought-out among the Bonescrape Scavengers, as many of the dragons like to use them to decorate themselves or their belongings. 		...
