Fern is Ravenstrike's oldest son. Early, soon after the clan's formation, Fern established a rivalry with one of his siblings, Cyan. He seeks to fly the Device higher by strength alone, an idea heavily influenced by Derecho. However, Fern practices considerably less discipline than Derecho.

This Skydancer is quiet and determined, but foolish and unfocused. He locks up when he has too many responsibilities, resorting to withdrawing from others. This loyal dragon seeks to serve his father, wishing to top the altitude record only to return dominance to Ravenstrike.
