Nachthexen
➳ Witch ▲ Generous ▲ Mystical ▲ Outgoing ▲ Nachthexen came to the clan as part of a group of merchants, who’d stopped by on their sea route. She’d been traveling for a long while and was looking for a place to rest her aging bones. Whilst the group of merchants restocked and traded with the Keepers of the Stars, she found herself feeling drawn to a small, supernaturally misty grove, not too far from the large tree that marked the center of the main island. It was here, in this dim and foggy place, that she’d make her home. Not long after her initial decision, the group of merchants she’d arrived with departed, solidifying her decision. Nachthexen set about carefully weaving branches and bushes into a den of reasonable size. Big enough for herself, extra space for visitors, and an area for a small shop. She dangled various gems from vines in the trees, adding a small light to her grove. She thought it made the area more friendly and inviting. Around her den, Nachthexen grew varieties of plants, ranging from drooping weeping bells, to softly glowing mosses. Each plant she grew had its own use, she told the others when asked, ranging from potions to spells. |
A dragon has to make a living somehow, she supposed, and so she chose to put her knowledge of gems, minerals, herbs, and magics to use. She started by growing herbs that would aid in rest and recovery, and soon expanded to selling gems that are said to aid in various ways. As her, considerably strange, methods seemed to work, so did her confidence in employing her skills in ways to help the rest of the Keepers of the Stars. Nachthexen became well known throughout the clan, as the dragon to seek out should you find yourself unable to sleep. Over time, her prices lowered for members of her new clan, and eventually she started simply treating her regular customers for free. Outside of her work, Nachthexen does as much as she can for the clan. They’re her new family now, and she has grown to love them, as they love her. She can often be found lounging peacefully in the common area around dawn and dusk, happily chatting away with any dragon who approaches her. Often times, she can even be found teaching sleepy hatchlings about various gems and their uses, as well as the power some are said to contain. Her favorite thing to show the hatchlings is how some gems can hold dragon’s fire. The looks on the little hatchlings’ faces as they see the gem light up and glow are simply adorable. Some may call Nachthexen strange, for her wings show off an impressive imitation of the night sky and her mere presence can lull a hatchling to sleep, or calm even the angriest of adults. There is a supernatural grace about her, as if the wisdom of many lifetimes is seeping into her very movements. Nachthexen considers herself old, but not necessarily wise. Only a fool would think them self wise, she thinks, and someone who is wise would know that there is always something new to learn of this world. Nachthexen would like to be around for the day when there is nothing new to learn, but she is in no particular rush to learn everything. |
