Mari

While Mari is but a house staff at the Atelier, her bright smile and pleasant demeanor has earned her a bit of a reputation among the resident community.
From one glance she appears to be a very lax, leisurely sort, not at all uncommon among snappers- but if one follows her along her daily routine, it becomes clear she is not quite so ordinary.
From every nook and cranny, den-to-den, Mari manages somehow to tidy and clean and fix the whole Atelier from the bottom up while the day is still young. No one knows better the innumerous tunnels and hideaways of the Atelier's mountain-deep structure than Mari, who tarries along these unused corridors only in the name of cleanliness.
The reasons for her obsessive work-ethic is unknown to all, and her insane capableness is even more of an enigma.

She is known most notoriously, however, to enter dens uninvited, where her tidy claws quickly makes nice of the messes of daily life.
While this sounds rather convenient for the lazy resident, the reality is all the more frightful, for there are countless reports of misplaced articles and feelings of unease at the uncanny cleanliness.

Resident artisans and scholars alike quiver in their dens, fearing the day that she would come to clean. Oh, she only means well, but...
Their dens are a mess...scrolls here, last week's leftovers there, books and tomes stacked in precarious towers, pigments all over the floor, and who knows what.
A mess, but a perfect one! Why, this is the most conducive environment for the aspiring genius, the inspired craftsman.

But alas! Here she comes, eyes aflare but jaws still smiling, smiling, smiling that wonderful smile.

And so such chilling stories of horror are passed to-and-fro in the dead of the summer nights.


...Besides that, though, she is largely well-liked among the Atelier's community.
Her friendly, domestic demeanor is equally open to all she meets, turning her into somewhat of a de-facto 'Mom' figure to many of the Atelier's quirky and unconventional residents.
