“Here, like this. Do you see?” -Aroha

Aroha’s Search led her through many territories before she found a strange ghost named Sam in the ruins of the Hewn City. Nearly blind in the light of the Sunbeam Ruins, Sam latched onto Aroha’s magic and pleaded with her to take her somewhere where the sun shone less brightly. Aroha traveled over the water to the Viridian Labyrinth where she eventually began to make a home in the shade of the tall trees.
While she worked, Sam told her stories about her life in the Second Age and the explosion that had ended it along with her people. The child spirit was much more comfortable in the forest’s shade, being able to see much better. In turn, Aroha could see her charge more clearly when she wasn’t perched on her shoulders, a small glowing outline whose detail grew and faded with the light. Their natures complement each other. Aroha is quiet and given to introspection while Sam’s personality is as bright as her misty body and she gladly fills her large guardian’s silences.
Aroha is the only dragon in the den to call Dardanos by his full name and she is the only one who can interrupt his work without a reprimand. She enjoys listening to his ideas and offering her own in turn. The ropey dragon often coils around her shoulders, talking with her and her charge and just as often falls asleep there.
