From across the small sea, Starkiller originated from the Wyrmwood, near the deadly lake itself. Many claim that the burbling mess is no good, that it could kill you, or worse, turn you into some sort of monster. It's no wonder that Starkiller was interested in the brew, for even as a hatchling, she wanted to learn more about it, get close to it. She wanted to touch it, swim in it. It's siren's call beckoned her from it's depths. She would mostly just sit near it, watching it with round, ruby eyes. The possibilities as to what could happen were endless, and here she was, just sitting near it. Either too scared or too smart to actually listen to those impulses she had.

When she got older, though, it was a different story. She was always sneaking out to observe the lake, actually taking notes and figuring things out as her plague majik got stronger by the day. It seemed she was absorbing something from within the lake just by being near it. Her parents warned her to heed their elder's warnings, but Starkiller ignored their plea.

Starkiller, one day, decided to finally do it, to touch the sickeningly churning mixture. The feeling was impossible to describe, seeming to be many things at once. There was excruciating pain yet serene comfort; it felt like the burning abyss of a volcano, yet the freezing wastelands to the south. The little spiral was certain she was going to die, fear overtaking her. The pitiful thing recoiled, and coiled in on herself, lying there, seemingly paralyzed from what had happened. The derg was ready to accept her death as boils began appearing on her hand that had been submerged in the poisonous thing. That was the last thing she could comprehend before she was taken by darkness, collapsing.

It was odd, when she woke up. The sky was clear, the air was fresh, the ground was cold. Starkiller couldn't move her limbs except for the rare spasm of her fingers and tail. She was certain that she was dead, and had passed onto the next life, or perhaps it had all been a dream, and she was just a made up dragon in the mind of a particularly morbid derg. Neither was true, but she was somewhere she wasn't used to. When she regained control of her body, she slithered into a sitting position, and what she saw was truly the most confusing thing she'd ever seen. Where even was she?

There was sky and water for as far as the eye could see. Afloat atop a glacier in the middle of the ocean. How in Plaguebringer's good name had she gotten all the way out her from the Wyrmwood? Her scarlet markings glowed uncertainly, flashing with the same anxiety her matching plague eyes did. The bigger question now was how the small dragon was going to get back. Not even to her home, but back on land. There was no land, no true signs of life either except for the rare fish here and there.

At least, that is what she thought. Something shifted on the berg, and she was horrified to find that this thing had an inhabitant. It was a deep blue wildclaw with pale ice eyes. She shrieked in surprise, scrambling to a different part of the icy expanse. He was shocked to find someone on his home, and demanded he tell her who she was and how she got there. Starkiller was silent, and he huffed, tapping his large claw on the ice for a second before moving himself to another part of the glacier, tail wrapped
around himself.

It seemed to last forever.

Starkiller wasn't sure how, but she'd lost track of the dark blue wildclaw, and soon found herself alone once more. This solitude lasted a week as she continued to try and teach herself to fish.

. . .

How she ended up accepted into comet's clan, how she found her way to the mountain, nobody truly knows. She's just always been there. Always watching.

Why she was allowed to become the plague representative is past even Accius himself, but she's shown to be a shrewd and capable leader when she needed to be, despite the cruel streak that runs through her like blood.
