Biography

tumblr_inline_njw5jjRGaO1qg2i5p.gif
This girl was given to me by my friend, Leafqueen. Thank you so much! Skyla's family history is hilarious. So, Frostbite used to belong to me. I gave him to my friend. He is the son of my two dragons Blaze and Blizzard. Pegasus is the daughter of Spyro and Fatima, also once my dragons. I gave Pegasus to the same friend. Frostbite and Pegasus mated and here is the result. Also, Sky is very gentle and sweet. She doesn't get mad, or at least, hardly ever. Her patience has been tested a few times from the unwanted attention of Ares, but she still perseveres.

Sky padded daintily along, smiling slightly as she pushed through the crowd. There was a new dragon in the lair, and as she herself had only come here a few weeks ago, she was anxious to help make the newcomer fit in. She knew very well what it was like to be the outsider.
Sky almost tripped as a large, red imperial male pushed past her, but she righted herself.
"Ares, watch where you're going," said a testy voice, from Sky's
grandfather Blaze. Blaze swiftly caught her before she hit the ground and got trampled by the crowd, then he righted her.
"Thanks," she said, smiling gratefully at him.
Blizzard, Blaze's mate and Sky's grandmother, muttered something that sounded like. "I'd like to give that dragon a piece of my mind. He's trouble."
Sky, at any other time, would've tried to pacify her temperamental family member, but right now, she wanted to see the new dragon.
Unfortunately, so did every other dragon in the lair.
Since Sky was still very young, only two weeks in fact, she was still extremely petite, and that made pushing through crowds of dragons much bigger than she was very difficult.
But then, Sky got separated from her grandparents.
"Blaze? Blizzard?" she called. But no answer.
Deciding that the best course of action would simply be to continue, she did so.
Finally, she got to the clearing in which the new dragon was talking to the leaders, Drinian and Shadow.
"Oof!" Sky found herself falling forward and landing at the new dragon's feet. Some dragon behind her had tripped her. She was sure of it.
But that flew from her mind as she gazed up into the new dragon's startlingly blue eyes.
He smiled down at her and helped her to her paws, the surprise sliding away from his face as quickly as rain.
"Hey, watch you don't hurt yourself," he said, grinning. "Not that I mind pretty females falling at my paws, that is." he added the last part with a wink.
Sky blushed and felt the heat of it go down to the tips of her claws. She noticed that, like most of the dragons in the lair, he was larger than she was. By a lot. She felt like a fae standing in front of him.
"Skyla, are you alright?" asked Drinian.
Sky nodded slightly, and attempted to merge with the crowd once more.
As she disappeared into the crowd, she saw the male imperial turn back to Drinian. She could still feel the heat of the blush in her cheeks. That had happened so fast.
Who had tripped her anyway? And why?
"Hey, baby," said a voice in her ear.
She glanced around and found herself gazing into bright purple eyes. "Ares?" she asked.
"Hey," he said, licking his lips. "You need help getting out of this crowd?"
Before she could answer, Ares slipped under her and picked her up as easily as he would a flower.
She felt like an idiot as she rode on his back out of the crowd. Fortunately or unfortunately, Ares was on the larger side of what imperials grow to, so she was lifted free of the paws of the other dragon. However, that meant she was in plain view to ALL of them.
She turned red as she realized she must look like a hatchling so high here, and so tiny.
"There you go," Ares let her slide unceremoniously to the ground like a sack of flower.
"Um, thanks," she muttered.
"Hey, so me and a couple friends are hanging out tonight by the river. Wanna come?"
"Who's going to be there?" asked Sky warily.
"Eh, Aphrodite, Lucky, Avior, Tabby..."
She wondered if she would hurt his feelings if she refused. "Um..." she hedged, playing for time. "I- I don't know if I'm free." That was true, wasn't it? She DIDN'T.
"What would you be doing instead?"
"Well...I was thinking of trying to befriend the new guy," said Sky awkwardly. Ares's eyes flashed, but then they reverted back to their usual 'I'm amazingly cool' look. "Huh," he said lightly. "Bring him along then."
"Uh..."
"See ya there," he said and trotted off.
Sky stared after him. She sighed. Now what? She knew as well as any dragon that Ares had acquired himself a reputation. For being so closed-minded that he fell for EVERY pretty female in the lair. It didn't matter if she had a mate. To Ares, every female was his as far as he was concerned. And, unfortunately, Ares had turned his short attention span to her, Sklya of Nature.
"Sky! There you are!" Blaze darted over and hugged her. "Are you okay?"
Blizzard was close behind. She hugged her too.
"Uh, sure. Hey, Blizzard? Am I free this evening?"
"What? Why?" asked Blizzard, pulling away from her and looking at the smaller dragon in surprise.
"Well, someone invited me to go and hang out, so..."
"Is this a male?" asked Blaze suspiciously. "You're too young to date, young lady."
Sky wanted to laugh at the idea of dating Ares. "No, it's not a date. I'm just going to hang out with some dragons. Okay?"
"Well..." Blizzard hesitated. "Who are these dragons?"
Oh dear. They would be sure to say no now.
"Well, um, Lucky'll be there," she offered. As far as she knew, Lucky was a sweet dragon who pretended to be cool she could hang out with the 'cool' dragons.
"Lucky? And who else?"
"Uh... Avior." She didn't know Avior that well, but he seemed decent. "And Autumn.," she added hastily. Autumn was alright, if a trifle quiet.
"Hmm, okay. You can go. Where is this, anyway?" asked Blaze, looking at her.
"Oh, near the pond," said Sky casually. "Anyway, see ya!" she untangled herself from her grandparents and darted off.
She wouldn't normally treat them like that, but with this... She wanted to make the new dragon feel welcome, and she was too shy to do that on her own. Maybe being around other dragons would help build a friendship where she was comfortable enough to talk easily with him.
But first, she had to find him. Wherever he was.
She looked around for the new dragon, and almost immediately, she spotted him talking to Sunni and her mate, Riptide.
As she approached, she melted into the shadows to wait.
And eventually, the charcoal and blue imperial headed towards her cluster of shadows.
"Hi," she said, slipping out of them.
He jumped slightly. "Whoa, you scared me."
"Sorry," said Sky, trying for a smile even as her stomach gave a nervous lurch.
"What did Drinian call you again? Skylar?"
"Skyla," she corrected. "It's an easy mistake to make. Almost everyone does, so most dragons just call me Sky."
"Sky?"
"Yes. At least, that's what my friends call me."
He quirked an eyebrow at her that seemed mildly flirty. "So, what should I call you?"
Sky flicked her tail slightly. "Whichever you want." Sky was quite pleased with the way she had said a simple statement and yet had basically asked him if he wanted to be friends at the same time.
"Alright Sky, MY friends call me Nimbus. For that matter," he cocked his head and grinned. "My enemies call me Nimbus too."
She smiled. This dragon was ridiculously easy to talk to. "Well, um, Nimbus, I was just, uh, thinking you might like to join me and a couple of others at the pond this evening. Just for fun."
His startlingly blue eyes appraised her. "Oh? What will we be doing?"
"To tell the truth, I don't really know," Sky admitted. "Ares invited me." Well, FORCED me more like. But she didn't say that.
"Sure, I'd like that. Thanks. Um, where's the lake?"
Sky giggled and pointed it out to him.
"Well, we'd better get going then, huh? The sun's going down."
"Oh, wow, I didn't realize it was so late. Okay, let's go."
So, Sky and Nimbus trotted along towards the lake. As they got nearer, Sky began to get more and more nervous. How would Ares react to Nimbus coming along? Would he be a jerk about it?
"Hey, babe! You made it!" Ares trotted up, a huge, toothy smile plastered to his face.
"Hi," said Sky uncertainly. Ares...wasn't this friendly. Ever.
"Hey," said Nimbus, smiling in a friendly fashion at Ares.
"Hi, I'm Ares," said the bright red imperial, turning that oddly fake looking smile onto the dragon with the genuine one.
"Nimbus," he said, dipping his head. "Sky, you never mentioned that Ares was your boyfriend."
"Why should she?" asked Ares, before Sky could respond. Ares's eyes becoming colder but the smile staying firmly in place.
Nimbus shrugged.
"Well, come on, the party's that way. Sky, can I have a quick word with you?" Ares pointed Nimbus in the direction of the party, then he took Sky's paw and led her into a thickly forested clearing.
"What's up?" asked Sky. "And why did you say you're my boyfriend? You're...well, you're not, Ares."
"I never said we were," said Ares easily, leading her on through the woods.
"You implied it," said Sky, not missing a beat.
"Not the same thing, babe."
Sky opened her mouth, but she couldn't think of anything to say. Then she changed the topic.
"Where're we going? And why?"
"Eh, don't want to be overheard."
Overheard doing what? asked Sky silently. What did he want with her that he couldn't just whisper in her ear?
Then, when they were far out of earshot of the dragons, Ares turned to her, a flicker of excitement sparking in his purple eyes.
Sky didn't understand. Why-?
The thought was sliced neatly in half when Ares took a step forward and said, "So, Sky, I've been thinking..."
Caution grew louder in her head as he touched her paw lightly with his.
"Uh, yeah?" asked Sky, pulling her paw away casually.
Ares's tail swept around, closer to her back legs.
Sky was suddenly struck by the fact that she was alone in a forest with a male. A male who was much larger than her. And he was attracted to her. And...he had a reputation for being a womanizer.
Sky took a step back, trying to act normal and shove down her growing panic.
Ares's tail lightly wrapped round her back paws.
"Ares..."
His tail tightened. "Yeah?" he asked softly.
"I-" Sky attempted to pull away. Alarm bells went off, clanging in her head as Ares stepped forward, his tail pulling her towards him, and pulling her off balance.
Sky fell, and Ares's paw shot out, trapping her on the ground.
"Ares...let me up," said Sky, trying to show her panic, which was rapidly growing stronger.
Ares didn't answer, but his tail tightened.
"Ares!" Sky's voice rang through the trees, startlingly some birds out of the tree. She was ashamed that her voice shook slightly.
"Hey..." said a new voice. "Am I interrupting something?"
Sky looked around, relief flooding her as she saw Nimbus's familiar face.
Ares also looked up, but his face was full of dark anger as he let up Sky.
Sky got to her paws and swiftly crossed the clearing to Nimbus.
He didn't remove his gaze from Ares's. His voice was full of quiet menace as he said, "I can have you reported for assault. Don't ever try something like that again. On her, or on anyone."
Ares snarled, the effect grisly with the red scales on his face and fierce purple eyes. "Don't tell me what to do. Especially with my girls. Or you'll regret it."
Nimbus didn't answer, just turned and left, Sky hastily trotting after him.
"Thank you," she said to him breathlessly. "I thought- I was sure he was going to-"
Nimbus just nodded, his face still full of rage. "Are you alright?"
Sky nodded. "Thank you," she said again.
They came out of the trees, and Nimbus looked around the star-spangled night sky.
"I'll walk you home," he said, glaring behind him in the general direction of Ares.
Sky nodded. "Okay. Nimbus..."
Nimbus looked at her, his blue eyes dark in the faint light.
"How did you know I was in trouble?"
Nimbus shrugged slightly. "I knew he was up to know good. I could see that just by the way he looked at you."
Sky blushed, ashamed that he had noticed and she hadn't. She shivered as she thought of what would've happened if Nimbus hadn't shown up. She was suddenly glad he was walking her home, instead of her going home all alone, at night, with Ares wandering around..."
They got to her hollow tree, where Sky stayed in the roots with Blaze and Blizzard. She turned to him.
"Thank you," she said, for the third time.
He smiled at her. "You okay?"
"Yeah," she said, tilting her head up to him and smiling wider.
He smiled back, then turned and trotted away into the night.
Sky watched him go, then she turned and disappeared into the musky interior of her home.
Safe, warm, familiar... It was good to be home.
