Biography
Official Wind subspecies Birds of Fae - Snowy Owl Variant
Quote:
Birds of Fae are a small, highly social migratory dragon species that originate from the windswept plateau, and are considered to be some of the strongest, swiftest and agile flyers on sornieth. They spend most of their time of the wing, only landing to drink, sleep or breed. When their insect food supplies dwindle and become scarce in the colder months, multiple flocks will gather together into great swarms, sometimes big enough to block out the sun, and will move on to other territories in their search for food and warmer weather. They follow the same migration routes to their destinations every year, but when the seasons change to spring and the weather begins to warm, Birds of Fae return to their windy homelands where their favoured nesting materials are found in plentiful supply, to breed and raise their young.
Most of these Fae resemble various species of birds of prey, hence the name, and in some rare cases other more colourful bird species, and are often mistaken to be birds when seen from a distance. Unfortunately for the ones resembling birds of prey, they are often targeted by territorial birds of prey defending their mates or their patch, or a hungry crow looking to snatch a meal, but their behaviour is far from that of a real bird of prey.
The individuals that resemble other, more colourful bird species are very rare, and are often shunned, picked on or chased away from its flock by the plentiful bird of prey look-a-likes that make up the majority of the species. These dragons may go on to form small flocks of their own with fellow outcasts if they survive to become adults.
