FROM ADRIENNE :D

Atria and Alioth

The centaurs found the two newborn hatchlings abandoned in the Sunbeam Ruins. They had tied the two dragons up and threw them into cages. They planned to sell them, or kill them, which ever was more beneficial. The dragons would be sold for their beauty; these were rare imperial dragons with crystal wings and dark violet complexions. Their screeches could be heard for miles in any direction and the centaurs were getting sick of it.

“Shut them up or cut out their tongues.” The leader shouted over the dragons.

The beastclan was traveling to their buyer who had written to the centaurs in hopes of buying the two imperial dragons. If the dragons didn’t stop crying the old man would get nothing but a pair of antlers. The clan had traveled two weeks to get these dragons to the Tangled Wood, even though they were found in the Sunbeam Ruins.

“We already lost one dragon this month, we can’t afford to kill two more,” The leader’s wife commented. She was right, the centaurs had tried to kill a fae dragon only a month before, but they were unsuccessful and lost money from the failure.

The beastclan traveled for two more hours, the dragons had finally stopped screaming. The location the buyer had told the centaurs was eerie in itself; an abandoned rock building with symbols etched onto every surface of the place. Beasts surrounded the building as if they were guarding it.

“We’re here to deliver, and to get our money” The Leader yelled out into the woods.

Soon enough, an old man covered in black and red robes came from inside the building, mumbling something under his breath. He walked up the centaur leader. He looked up to the centaur with red eyes and an evil, yellow grin on his face. “The dragons.” He said.

“Bring them out!” The centaur yelled to his clan. Two centaurs opened the cages and threw the tied up imperial dragons to the old man’s feet. The dragons started growling and screeching again, this time louder than before.

“If you don’t mind me asking,” The centaur started, “What are you going to do with these dragons?”
The old man looked down at the dragons, then back to the centaur, “You know nothing of dragons, do you? All you want to do is kill them, but they have a greater purpose.” He explained. “These dragons are beautiful, yes, but they also have a… hidden talent one might say. When two imperial dragons die close to one another they become… inseparable.”

The centaur looked confused at the old man, “You’re going to kill them?” He asked. The clan behind him was becoming unsettled and he could tell they wanted to leave, but he wanted to know the old man’s reasoning.

“These dragons are special, they can form as one when they die and become an emperor dragon- a dragon that will destroy every other dragon, that will be the most invincible, that will make the beastclans conquer the dragons!”

The beasts stood in shock by what this old man, this old crazy man, had just said. A dragon created by the death of other dragons? That was not possible. Before the centaurs could react, there was a high pitched screech that came from above. Then a low roar that made the trees tremble.
“Dragons!” The centaur leader screamed to his clan. He was shocked- no dragons lived in this rural area from what he had heard. His clan was not prepared for killing dragons- let alone two.

The old man growled and ran into his home, mumbling more under his breath. The centaur looked at the two imperial dragons at his feet. Could he kill them to create a bigger dragon to kill every other dragon?

Before he could act, the dragons attacked. One centaur was grabbed and thrown into the air, instantly killed by sharp talons. The leader looked up to see the same dragon he had tried to kill only a month before. Furiously he tried looking for something to attack the fae dragon with, but was too late. The other dragon grabbed another centaur by the neck, almost ripping off the head and instantly killing it. Two down. The fae dragon landed on the ground, her tiny but powerful body emitting energy and anger.

She remembered him, too.

Without hesitation, the leader ran towards the fae dragon with a sharp hunting knife in his hand. It was to no avail, the dragon he had forgotten about had attacked him from behind, almost ripping off his hind legs. The centaur screamed, falling to the ground to see a giant, red dragon hovering over him.

The fae dragon dug her talons into his chest, clawing her way to his heart, until he slowly and painfully died by her hand. It was over. The other centaurs had been killed or fled, the beasts ran away from the fight. The red dragon looked at the damage he and his queen had created and shook his head.

The imperial dragons screamed and screeched, still tied in ropes burning their wings. The Fae dragon flew over and broke their restraints. The hatchlings looked up at the fae dragon with hopeless eyes.

“Undyne,” The fae said under her breath, “They’re all alone, we cannot leave hatchlings all alone.”

“Kira, we have eggs of our own to worry about. We cannot deal with two more.” Undyne tried to explain, but he was interrupted by mumbling. Kira and Undyne turned to see the old man carrying a green potion and mumbling to himself.

“Undyne. Take the children and go.” Kira demanded with a harsh voice. Undyne looked at her, then to the old man, then to the hatchlings he was about to commit to.

“Children!” Undyne called to the imperials, who responded surprisingly fondly, “Follow me.”
He and the two dragons ran away from Kira and the old man and flew to the cave where Kira and Undyne had created their home.

After an hour, Kira showed up to the cave, her wings covered in blood, her leg wound reopened. She flew in and crashed into the cave, calling out for Undyne. Undyne ran to his love as the imperial dragons watched. “Follow me,” Undyne called to them again as he carried Kira on his back to the Cave Lake. He washed the blood from her wings and cleaned her wounds, and then laid her down in her nest.

The imperial dragons stared at Undyne as if he was their true father- with bright, hopeful eyes.
“What are your names?” He asked.

“… We don’t have names.” The female imperial dragon said, the first time either of them had said a word.

“Here, you two can sleep here,” Undyne gave them his nest for the night, “Tomorrow we can deal with you two.”
