Amazon
The Lorekeeper
The Nature Ambassador

“Outta my way, whelp. There’s hist’ry to record.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Who is Amazon?

Amazon is a no-nonsense dragon first and foremost. Some would say that she is arguably more quick-tempered than her mate Murano, which is why they tolerate each other so well. Like an elder dragon, she derives enjoyment from simply sitting and existing, typically while looking out at the scenery or trying to spot the glow of the Wyrmwound on the horizon at dusk. She is never truly idle, though, always absorbing the goings-on in her surroundings and keeping watch over everything with a scrutinizing eye. As her position in the clan would suggest, she has a reverence for the past, and often finds herself grumbling to other dragons about the way things used to be, even if that recount is a bit sensationalized.

Despite being an Obelisk, Amazon seems to always be in a rush. According to her she never has time for idle chatter or leisure, as far more important history is being written with every passing moment of time. Second only to her mate when it comes to how passionately she performs her job, she is feared among the other members of the clan council for her ambitiousness, outspokenness, and total lack of fear when it comes to speaking her mind. She is the only member of the council—let alone the clan—to blatantly speak out against Fester or Nox, and while she is often lashed at by other members of the parade who value their manners, Nox herself is never one to reprimand her.

Place in the Parade

Amazon’s headstrong approach to the council isn’t all hot air; as Lorekeeper it is not only her job to record the important events occurring within the clan’s history, but also to watch for historical patterns and prevent the clan from making mistakes that they—and others—have made in the cycles of time. When not transcribing council meetings or speaking out in them, she can usually be found in the clan’s embassies, interviewing visitors or simply taking notes as she watches dragons come and go. She is also there whenever the clan acquires a particularly rare item or captures a particularly elusive creature, and is naturally on the scene whenever there is a large-scale battle involving the clan. Given both her age and her role, however, she is strictly forbidden from involving herself in combat.

Amazon also bears the temporary role of Ambassador to the Nature flight; despite being an Arcane dragon, she is able to communicate well with dragons of other flights due to her perceptive nature and many years of experience interacting with foreign dragons. She is eager to turn over the title, however, especially considering she is only allowed to interact with Nature dragons that come to the clan; no connections with clans living in the Labyrinth have been established yet.

Paranormal Activity

For how bold and blatant everything else about Amazon is, her magical ability is surprisingly subtle. Her Arcane abilities enhance her intellectual prowess, allowing her to read faster, calculate quicker, and analyze more thoroughly. This magic is also part of what makes her so perceptive, giving her little sparks of intuition when something that might capture her interest is going on nearby. Naturally, she is also able to be a lot less subtle with her magic, casting primarily defensive spells that shield allies or weaken foes.

With the help of specially-prepared crystals, she is also able to record events in a more permanent form and with relative speed compared to the common practice of etching tablets. When held to certain colors of light, the crystals will display a static or simply animated image or a parchment's worth of text.
