When Row was younger, he often tried to move too fast for his wings. As a result, he was quite clumsy, often causing a stir as he knocked over things or into other dragons while tripping on himself and others. 'Row' is really a nickname that stuck so hard his true name was forgotten by all but him, and the only other dragon who knows it is his mate, Katrun.

As he grew, he out paced the clumsiness and taught himself stealth and the arts of properly protecting one's lair and clan. Which is how he met Katrun-- an expert in tracking and field survival-- on an ill thought out mission in which she had to rescue him from starving himself in the wilds for picking a place with unfamiliar food to go 'camping'.

Katrun and Row left their previous lair due to a set of circumstances they do not wish to discuss, and met the Menagerie while traveling Sornieth for the Crystalline Gala. Krasota and Izum take their word that the circumstances are not criminal in nature and have agreed to take them in, offering Row the position of Captain of the Night Watch due to his skills. Even Gaddanu agreed with the choice.

Row has a tendency to seem very reticent and stoic, but the truth couldn't be farther away. He's actually quite friendly and warm to those that get to know him.
