Charge - Toriya Bio Malignant received the missive of Drakengaze, with its ornate golden seal and the Lord Advisor's meticulous penmanship, early for a guardian. At least for a guardian in her clan, one who had spent their youth learning the art of battle. In truth when the finely lettered scrap of canvas came to her she had not yet even begun the search for a charge, or the journey that entailed. And she was instructed carefully on how best to infiltrate and manipulate the clan, her mentor set on taking the riches that a clan who sent for Plagueright protection must have. She listened to her Mentor as he went on about locating weak entrances and the best ways to send up a flare. She heard his hissing promise that she would not be alone in her endeavor. Her gut told her different, but she was not given the opportunity to speak on her own instincts. Her clan fell ill, victim and dreadful during their efforts to follow her to the new den, to what would be her new home. She saw their fates and her instincts wretched her stomach as she tread on anyway, clutching the bloodstained missive as she travelled the wastes alone and sought out the lair that wanted her so badly they had sent spirit and shade to ensure her safe arrival. Safe was a strong word, of course. She found her own ill fait along the way, tumbling head first off the edge of an arcane cliff. The will to find her charge kept her close enough to alive that the alchemist who found her could do their best to repair what had broken, bruised and shattered... and when she left them her body was bandaged, her face fused with an enchanted mask, and her wings dragging still lax and uneven. Drakengaze was never informed who repaired their Plagueright. She carried on stronger after her almost-demise, having lost most of her capacity to think she only sought her charge, her singular purpose being the one that she had been requested to come for. The only one in the clan who received the shambling mass well, the Authority and leader of the clan. Since her arrival the mute beast has lingered near her Charge and Master, only apparently capable of hearing her through the magic keeping her broken body moving. |
