Biography

Cursed Talonclasp Pendant

Will o' the Ember

Flame Bolt
Imprezya wasn't always dark with burning wildfire wings.

Oh no. Imprezya was the perfect Nature dragon, wings like a tree's canopy, body like a solid oak. He was stunning, glorious, and the pride of his old clan.

Until one day. Its always 'until' something happens, isn't it? That's how all those fantasies happen. 'One day the hero picks up a cursed amulet and accidentally destroys everything he holds dear'.

Everyone thinks "Surely that won't happen to me. That's just a fairy tale!" Imprezya was much the same. So when he finds a bright golden amulet, with a large ruby set in it, he picks it up, without even thinking.

Then things start going wrong. A Fae from his clan accuses him of melting her tree-sap nest in the dead of night. Imprezya is adamant he did nothing - he was sleeping the whole time! How would he even be able to melt a magically imbued nest anyway? He's a Nature dragon, not Fire.

It started with little things. Food was found burnt to a crisp. Treasure had been taken from the vaults and found in Imprezya's nest. Once the pride and joy of his clan, Imprezya was slowly losing favour, accusations and distrust swirling around him.

Imprezya was ever adamant that he didn't do anything. And yet, there was a small voice in his mind, one that was not his, one he could never focus on, and that made him doubt himself.

And then he heard it properly. They are not worthy... They do not trust you... It said. Hissing into his mind. The voice felt like a wildfire, raging in his mind. It felt like anger, pain, and the desire for revenge. He shut it out, not wanting to hear it, but more and more accusations were flung at him as bigger issues arise - large holes and craters start appearing around the clans' territory and other dragons had seen Imprezya flying out at night with a deep red glow around his body.

The voice was growing louder. Imprezya was getting frustrated and upset, but even more so, he was beginning to believe he was the one doing these things. He was scared and worried, until he got the worst news - the clan's leader approached him and told him he had to leave.

This was the final straw. Alone, clanless, with nothing but the voice in his head, he caves - and the spirit in the amulet takes over. Roaring furiously, all that anger and hatred suffuses Imprezya's body, and in a blind, fiery rage, he flies to his old clan.

Imprezya wakes a little while later. He groans, his head pulsing, his body in pain. He opens his eyes, and is gifted with the visage of destruction - the forest his old clan was situated was burning, many of his old clanmates were dead, charred remains.

He doesn't move for days. He stands in the centre of the raging inferno, mourning the loss of life and the needless destruction. More than once he attempts to remove the amulet, recognising it as the source, but no matter how hard he tries, he was unable to remove or destroy the cursed object.

He flung himself into the middle of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, the one place he can't burn. It was here that he saw his reflection - his body was no longer a grand oak, but instead, burnt charcoal. His wings were an inferno. The voice wasn't in his head anymore either - no, it spoke when he spoke. There was no possession, no coercion - now they were one and the same. Impreyza spoke with two voices now, the voice regretting and mourning his old life, and the voice that wanted to burn the world.

They were him. He was them. The world was meaningless - it should burn. The world was meaningless - letting it burn would be a mercy.

He was not a merciful dragon.
