Rivin is the librarian of the Lethal Legacy clan. She looks after the volumes, records, and other various collected texts that the clan has accumulated from its founding until the present. The library would not be half as well kept, organized or clean were it not for the coatls tireless selection, development, cataloguing, and classification of library resources. Her passion borders quite dangerously on eccentric. Though her position is commonplace and her work generally considered dull by less literate dragons, Rivin believes that her position in the clan is of the highest caliber and prefers more lofty titles such as “historian” and “records keeper.” They sound more pleasing to her.
Aside from the typical passion for literature and large vernacular that come with a love of books and records, the word savvy coatl has developed a habit of tucking the pages of her favorite passages and important records into her feathers. It has been so long since she started that many would have a hard time discerning the point where her pinions end and the pages begin. It is not an extraordinary occurrence for Rivin to pull a the reference tabs of her card catalog out of her own coal colored feathers to help a clan mate find a book. This quirk has made it impossible for Rivin to exhibit any degree of stealth. Every movement is accompanied by the rustle of pages and crinkle of various documents.
Rivin plays a large part in the education of the clan, single-handedly instilling at least a basic love of reading in every hatchling born to the clan and ensuring that every clan member, young or old, knows how to read. One of Rivin’s favorite pastimes is to read to her clan members. She is more than happy to read to any member of her clan though hatchlings tend to make up the majority of her story time circles. Both her teachings and her stories are hard to understand with her limited ability to pronounce a majority of draconian phonetic sounds and syllables. An exasperated honk will often be heard emanating from the coatl when one clan mate or another can’t decipher her accent. Most consider themselves lucky that Rivin can write in draconian as well as visual aids are more than helpful in deciphering the librarian’s garbled accent.
Should something ever happen to Rivin, the Lethal Legacy clan would be lost in trying to keep up with their records, and they would be lucky to find a librarian with half her passion and skill. She is a beloved member of the clan though many cannot help but avoid the pain of lengthy conversations with her unless they have mastered an understanding of her accent.
