Biography
His name means "beautiful" and "brilliant". And perhaps he would have grown up beautiful and handsome, had it not been for the fire. The rest of his family managed to escape, but somehow, Argider was left behind. The healers saved his life, but could do nothing for the scars. As he got older, he started to resent the pity of his fellow clan members, the averted stares, so he left home. The wilds would show him no pity. He would start anew. When he met other dragons on the road, they would shy away from him, averting their eyes to keep from staring. Mothers would drape a protective wing over their hatchlings. Only one dragon didn't. A diminutive little tundra that looked straight into his eyes, past the scars. Argider was held captive by her stare, frozen in place. Then she released him with a smile, a goofy grin, and Argider felt like 100lbs had been lifted off his shoulders. Mheras (as he would later learn was her name) laughed, and Argider couldn't help but laugh, too. Mheras invited him to her clan, where he could rest a bit and eat, and stay for as long as he wanted. Argider felt no pity aimed at him when he walked into the clan. Mothers let their hatchlings run up to him, and they would trace his burns with their little claws. Hatchlings are incapable of pity, they just figured Argider was born this way. Mheras helped him fashion a mask from an old skull and antlers. This made him feel more comfortable when he was outside the clan. Mheras and he grew very close, though they never laid a nest together. Maybe they couldn't? Maybe they were just happy with one another. Nobody asked.
